At the time of this writing, we're only one day into Fortnite: Battle Royale Season 5. But this is the video game world and that means we are looking ever towards the horizon, waiting for that perfect piece of loot, victory royale or what have you. On top of that, there's a lot of grinding to do if you want to get everything the battle pass has to offer, and those of us with jobs and/or families might want to think about a plan to ensure that we can make it all the way to that coveted Ragnarok skin, which has got to be my favorite piece of work in the game yet. And we've only got ten weeks to do that in.

So, for planning purposes. The in-game Battle Pass screen gives us 73 days remaining at the time of this writing. Math is hard, however, so Fortnite.com does the work for us. Season 5 of Fortnite: Battle Royale ends on September 25, 2018. Season 6 will assumedly begin immediately after, on the same day.

Note that this indicates a slightly different schedule than what we're working with now. Right now, the turnover day is Thursday, but September 25 is a Tuesday. That's why the 73 days remaining adds up to just a little bit more than 10 weeks. Last season Epic pushed the end of the season back to put it on a Thursday again, however, so it's possible this date could move a little bit this season as well.

So, time to make a plan. For some players reaching Rank 100 and levelling up the Ragnarok and Drift skins won't be any trouble at all, but for some of us, it's a bit of a stretch. Just remember to always prioritize challenges and to not let daily challenges stack up too much: if you have three daily challenges unfilled, you won't be able to get another, and so that day's challenge will simply disappear into the ether, never to be filled.

You are granted a bit of a reprieve this season as far as timing goes, however. Last season asked you to get all the way up to Level 80 to snag the season's final reward: a fully-upgraded, color-changing Omega skin. It was a stretch, especially for solo players. This season is a bit kinder, and will let you continue to level up the Ragnarok skin even after the season has ended.
