The National Centre of Meteorology, NCM, has called on drivers and pedestrians to take all necessary precautions against poor visibility caused by fog formation.

In its statement, the NCM warned of poor visibility of less than 1,000 metres at times over central and western areas till 8:30am Monday morning.

Weather forecast for the day also included chances of rain, with a probability of fog or mist forming by late night and early morning over some internal areas, especially in the western region.

According to a weather forecast issued by NCM on Sunday, UAE will be affected by an extension of surface low pressure accompanied with an upper trough of low pressure from the Northwest.

This will lead to formation of convective rain clouds from Sunday to Monday.

From Monday evening to Thursday (December 5), the country will be hit by scattered rain of different intensities. Windy, dusty weather will reduce visibility.

The sea will be rough in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.

The national disaster management authority urged residents to take necessary precautions during rain in mountainous areas.
