According to Bloombergs Mark Gurman who has a solid track record when it comes to publishing information about Apples plans, the upcoming iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max replacements will be marketed as the iPhone 11, iPhone Pro, and iPhone Pro Max respectively. This development means Apple is likely planning to ditch the numerical system on its upcoming Pro models.
The camera will be an important part of Apples 2019 iPhone lineup but the iPhone 11 wont be benefitting from all of the upgrades. Its expected to feature a main 12-megapixel camera accompanied by another 12-megapixel sensor coupled with a 2x telephoto lens. But to keep costs down, itll reportedly be skipping the new ultra-wide-angle camera thats expected on the Pro-branded devices.
Another differentiating factor will be the display. Just like last years iPhone XR, the iPhone 11 will feature a 6.1-inch LCD panel complete with thicker bezels and a 1792 x 828p resolution. The iPhone Pro models, on the other hand, should boast OLED panels that pair slimmer bezels with higher resolutions. Internally, both the iPhone 11 and iPhone Pro models will feature Apples A13 Bionic although the RAM count probably won't be identical. Specifically, the iPhone 11 looks set to include 4GB while the iPhone Pro devices may opt for 6GB.
Circling back to the external side of things, Apples expected to skip the iPhone Pros stainless-steel frame on the iPhone 11 in favor of an aluminum alternative. Additionally, the cheaper model likely wont feature a frosted glass rear panel like its premium siblings. Completing the list of differences will be the 5W charger inside the box the iPhone Pro will reportedly ship with 18W bricks and the lack of a redesigned mute switch.
