The first camera samples from the OnePlus 6 are here  4/17/2018 8:23:44 AM   Sudhanshu Singh, John McCann

After revealing waterproofing on the OnePlus 6, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has now shared high-resolution 16MP camera samples from the firm's upcoming flagship.

The EXIF data gathered from the samples, posted on micro-blogging site Weibo, confirm the resolution of the primary camera.

The images showcase the camera performance of the OnePlus 6 in daylight, exhibiting plenty of detail and natural-looking colors.

If these shots are what we can expect when we get our hands on the OnePlus 6, it looks like the camera will be a decent upgrade over the OnePlus 5T

A promising start

There’s a portrait shot of tulips among the samples, which has a natural-looking bokeh effect; the background is evenly blurred and the colors pop out nicely.

It’s too early to get into technical details of the pictures, but the first impressions look promising. OnePlus has a record of sharing camera samples ahead of the launch of a new phone, which tells us the OnePlus 6 announcement is near.

Previous teasers and revelations have confirmed that the OnePlus 6 will have a notch design with a 19:9 display, and that it'll be the first OnePlus phone to incorporate waterproofing. It'll be powered by a Snapdragon 845 SoC, accompanied by 6GB and 8GB of RAM.

Earlier this month GizmoChina reported that the OnePlus 6 would be available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB variants.
