The Department of Chemistry, St. Michaels College, Cherthala in association with Government College Kottayam and Inter University Instrumentation Centre, Mahatma Gandhi (MG) University Kottayam will organise an international conference on photochemistry and sustainable energy (ICPSE 2019) from October 17 to 19.
It will be inaugurated by Sabu Thomas, vice chancellor, MGU at Camelot Convention Centre, Pathirappally, near here, on Thursday at 9 a.m.
Renowned scientist Jai Pal Mittal will deliver the keynote address. Scientists from various institutes and universities in India, Australia, Japan, China, South Korea, Singapore, USA and Poland will talk on various topics.
C.T. Aravindakumar, pro vice-chancellor, MGU is the scientific advisor of the ICPSE.
Organisers said that the conference would focus on subjects such as organic electronics, alternate renewable energy, photochemistry, fuel cells, photovoltaic materials and devices.
The St. Michaels College will also organise a pre-conference event titled Meet the Scientists at Digital Seminar Hall on October 16, 10.30 a.m.
The highlight of the programme is an interactive session between eminent scientists and students with scientific aptitude.
Prof. Prashant Sonar, Molecular Design and Synthesis Discipline, Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia, Prof. Syoji Ito, Division of Frontier Materials Science, Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University, Japan and Tatsuhiro Nagasaka, research student, Division of Frontier Materials Science, Graduate School of Engineering Science, Osaka University, Japan and others will attend the function.
