Samsung has announced that users of the Galaxy Note10 will receive new features in the Samsung Weather app to enhance the experience. Some of the new features include government-issued weather alerts, radar maps, and weather video clips. All of the content is provided by The Weather Channel which supplies weather data to all other Samsung phones since the Galaxy S8.

With the new changes, Galaxy Note10 users will be able to view real-time radar maps, letting them see “hyperlocal current weather”. Those users will also get weather alerts issued by their government, helping them prepare for extreme weather such as strong winds or flooding. The alerts are also displayed in the weather widget pinned to the home screen.

Commenting on the development, Yongje Kim, Executive Vice President of Service Business Office, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics, said:

“Samsung is committed to delivering meaningful innovation to our users. Our partnership with The Weather Channel is another example of our ongoing efforts to deliver seamless services that are widely accessible and simplify the lives of our Galaxy device owners. Together with The Weather Channel, we’re offering people more information and making weather checks on Galaxy Note10 easier, faster and more essential.”

It’s unclear whether Samsung will be introducing these features to other Samsung Galaxy devices or if they'll remain a Galaxy Note10 exclusive, nevertheless, you’ll still get The Weather Channel forecasts via Samsung Weather if you use the Galaxy S8 or newer.
