Reckless driver gets Dh1.2 million fine in UAE
The RAK Police announced on Sunday morning that they had nabbed a young driver involved in traffic fines up to Dh1,158,000.
The 23-year-old Emirati driver has been involved in 1,251 traffic violations, according to Col Waleed Mohammed Juma, Chief of the Maamura police. He was nabbed in a surprise inspection raid.
His was caught with an expired driving license.
The young driver was booked 1,200 times for speeding, Col Juma explained.
"His car was due for impoundment for 51 times as well."
The accumulated traffic fine slapped against the driver is the biggest ever to be recorded by the RAK police, he pointed out.
"The erring driver is also implicated in so many other traffic violations."
