With the long Eid Al Fitr break upon us, many UAE residents have already planned or are yet to make travel plans.

Public sector employees in the UAE will enjoy a seven-day official Eid Al Fitr holiday, while private sector employees start their Eid holidays today until Shawwal 3.

However combined with weekends, public sector employees will enjoy a 9-day break - while most private sector workers will enjoy a 6-day break.

Keeping true to their word of being the safest country in the world, Dubai Police launched an initiative last year that secures homes of people when they are travelling - by installing CCTV cameras and sensors to detect any suspicious movements.

Dubai Police issued a statement on social media, announcing the launch of the initiative during this summer break too.

Residents can apply for the service online or through the Dubai Police smart app, and they can opt for it for three to six months or for one year.
