Edmonton Oilers to introduce general manager Ken Holland

The Edmonton Oilers have called a news conference for 10am mt/Noon et where the team will introduce Ken Holland as their new general manager.

TSN's Ryan Rishaug reported late Sunday night that Holland accepted the team's offer of the position and TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger added that the deal with the Oilers is believed to be for five years at $5 million per season.

Holland, 63, held a senior vice-president position with the Red Wings after the arrival of Steve Yzerman as general manager last month

He helped lead the Red Wings to three Stanley Cups (1998, 2002, 2008) as Detroit's general manager from 1997 through the end of this season.
