Asked about her all-time favorite Jovani ensemble, the 54-year-old “Real Housewives of New York” star told Page Six Style, “I have a suit that’s pinstriped in black with white stripes and it looks like something Liza Minnelli would wear. I wore it in like my first shows. I love that suit.”
We caught up with De Lesseps at the launch party for her new song, “Feeling Jovani,” on Thursday night, where the reality star was dressed in her new limited-edition Jovani bomber jacket.
“I wanted it to be all sparkle and fun, and of course the name of the song is on the back of it,” she explained of the design. “Bombers are easy to wear, and you’re not talking about hems and sizes and all that stuff. Everybody can wear it. So I wanted it to be something everybody can wear. Boys and girls. So it’s for everyone.”
As for whether she’ll be releasing more looks with her favorite fashion brand? “We’re starting with the bomber and we’ll see,” she teased. “It’s the beginning of a long relationship with Jovani. I love working with them. They’re a great company and we have a great thing going.”
The jacket retails for $299, with a portion of the proceeds going to The Womens Prison Associations Women Care Program and The Young Womens Freedom Center, both charities the Countess chose with special care.
“I’ve seen a lot of women firsthand that are in prison for nonviolent crimes. I felt like I needed to raise awareness to help women who had formerly been incarcerated to empower them to be successful and be productive and help people in their own communities,” she explained.
“It just came to me it came to me a while ago because I felt that women needed a voice. And I’ve seen a lot of it. I almost wound up there myself. So it’s close to my heart, obviously. I think a lot of women need help. They don’t need to be in jail.”
