The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the Koodathayi serial murder case will interrogate Shaju Zachariyas, husband of prime accused Jolly Shaju, and a BSNL employee again.
Shaju will be quizzed again for details about the situations that led to the suspected murder of his former wife Sily Sebastian and daughter Alphine.
District Crime Branch sources said some of the relatives of Sily had previously claimed that she had been tortured for dowry. Also, they had alleged that Shaju was aware of the suspected attempts of Jolly to endanger Sily in 2016 and the child on various occasions.
An SIT official dismissed the version by a section of media that Jolly had no involvement in the death of two-year-old Alphine in 2014. She had already confessed to the crime, he said.
As part of investigating the case separately, the Thamarassery police registered a fresh first information report (FIR) on a directive of the State Police Chief.
The SIT also collected the statement of all doctors and medical staff who attended on the two at the time of their deaths.
The BSNL employee would be interrogated to get more evidence on his suspected relationship with Jolly after marrying Shaju in 2017. When interrogated earlier, he had described the relationship as friendship.
Based on call record details, the SIT confirmed that Jolly had visited him multiple times when he was in Coimbatore without informing other family members.
Also, the squad had got the details of multiple SIM cards allegedly secured by the man for Jolly. Sources said the man was allegedly aware of a conspiracy to eliminate Jollys husband for materialising his marriage with her.
