The Office of International Affairs and Collaborations (OIAC), MAHE, organised a pot-pourri of events to celebrate the International Students Day named Kairos, here recently.
A press release issued here said that the OIAC meticulously works out a good blend of programmes which evince a lot of interest. And, the students look forward to the celebrations enthusiastically to let their hair down. A fascinating mix of cultures from different lands and traditions make MAHE truly international. All that was on display during the programme. Students from some of the countries put up stalls showcasing something interesting from back home.
The programme at the Dr. T.M.A. Pai auditorium began with a procession of students from 58 countries. Each one of them carried a flag of their home nation and pinned them on the world map, symbolic of the international presence in Manipal.
H.S. Ballal, Pro Chancellor, MAHE, H. Vinod, Vice-Chancellor, lauded the students. Raghu Radhakrishnan, Director, International Collaborations, made a presentation of all the international exchanges and internships hosted at Manipal.
MAESTRO Manipal Academic Exchange and Student Traineeship for Research Outreach, a portal outlining all the internships and projects international students can pursue while in Manipal was launched by Dr. Ballal. Aula Magna, a quarterly newsletter published from the International Office detailing all the international agreements and news. was also launched.
OIAC is the universitys comprehensive resource for study abroad, research abroad, internship abroad, and other educational experiences worldwide. By promoting inter-cultural competence, meticulous erudition and acquisition of foreign languages, OIAC provides opportunities for international experience. It also administers student exchange programmes with partner institutions around the globe.
