This week just got a lot more Incredible. Disney/Pixar has released new footage of Incredibles 2, the follow-up to the Oscar-winning animated feature released in 2004.
In the sequel dashing into theaters on June 15, Parr family patriarch Bob (Craig T. Nelson) feels the pressure of solo parenting after his wife, Helen/Elastigirl (Holly Hunter) is called to head a campaign aiming to bring super heroes back.
"I'll watch the kids, no problem," Mr. Incredible's alias says before he's seen falling asleep while reading Jack-Jack a bedtime story and struggling to help Dash with his homework. (For the record we don't know why they would "change math" either.)
Did we mention Bob is also dealing with the surfacing of Jack-Jack's powers, which appear to be brought on by the consumption of cookies and sneezing? The tot has the ability to transform into a dad-biting troll-like creature and saying "achoo" causes laser beams to shoot out of his eyes.
Though his plate is piled high, Bob understands what's at stake, telling Lucius Best/Frozone (Samuel L. Jackson) "I've got to succeed so (Elastigirl) can succeed, so we can succeed."
Edna Mode (voiced by writer/director Brad Bird) also reminds him "Done properly, parenting is a heroic act," she says. "Done properly."
