Rhys Stanley is a late out for the Cats

GEELONG has suffered a big blow ahead of Saturday's clash against the Western Bulldogs, with in-form big man Rhys Stanley a late withdrawal from the selected side.

Stanley will miss the clash due to an adductor issue, with fellow ruckman Ryan Abbott earning a recall for his first game of the season.

With Stanley sidelined, Abbott and debutant Darcy Fort are likely to handle the majority of the Cats' ruck duties against Jackson Trengove and the Bulldogs.

Stanley has played all of Geelong's eight matches so far in 2019, averaging more than 14 disposals and 28 hitouts per match for Chris Scott's side.
