TV presenter and actor Luke Jacobz spends an inordinate amount of time thinking and talking about the baboons that insist on peeing above their campsite.
The entire group spends far too long whispering about and eating the food-based contraband they've all snuck into the camp, despite repeatedly being told not to. When one of the campmates, gossip guru Richard Reid, is delivered a note that demands all contraband is placed in the provided amnesty box, you can tell it's the most excitement anyone's had in at least 48 hours.
MasterChef alum Justine Schofield defiantly takes a bite of a contraband pear before it's locked in the amnesty box, cementing her status as the rebel within the group.
When former Gogglebox stars Angie Kent and Yvie Jones make their arrival into the group, thus taking the number of contestants from 10 to 12, comedian and actor Tahir Bilgiç remarks that he's "happy to have new people to talk to" despite already being in a confined space with nine complete strangers.
But as the contestants get to know each other, one thing becomes clear: celebrities love celebrity feuds and drama just as much as regular folks do.
Within 14 seconds of Angie and Yvie's presence being known, they'd instigated a conversation about Richard's supposed "falling out" with former Today show host Karl Stefanovic, after he'd proclaimed that Stefanovic was the one person he wouldn't want to be in the jungle with.
Turns out he only meant it because Stefanovic would steal all the limelight, what with the tabloid interest in his every movement. Shame - that would've gotten fiery, we bet.
One feud that wasn't as much of a storm in a teacup is former Biggest Loser host Ajay Rochester's years-old beef with former Biggest Loser trainer Michelle Bridges.
'Sitting around the camp with politican Sam Dastyari and model and reality TV star Justin Lacko, Ajay details why she said Bridges could "kiss my fat happy ass" in a 2016 Instagram post.
"Michelle made some comment to some televsion show. She was like, 'I've never met a fat, happy person'. For me, it was the final straw. I'd been silent for so long and it was like the little mouse that roared. [I] could have perhaps chosen better words."
When her campmates nod in agreeance, Ajay continues.
"If you're going to make millions of dollars in the weightloss industry, then understand, acknowledge and have some empathy for your clients ... It's just the most judgemental, discriminatory thing that you could say."
Thems fightin' words, Ajay.
The final piece of celebrity juice for the evening came via newsreader Natasha Exelby, who confirmed that she did lose her presenting job (at least temporarily) on ABC 24 after an on-air gaffe that went viral in 2017.
Telling new campmate Angie that she had been scheduled on for six more weeks of presenting duties before the gaffe, Exelby - with a less-than-impressed expression on her face - explained that she was removed from those duties immediately afterwards, and relegated to production work instead. While that information was public knowledge already, it was much more interesting hearing it from Natasha herself - the hint of quiet fury in her voice really added to the story.
Elsewhere in the camp, Justin has a crush on Angie (already!) and AFL legend Dermott Brereton seems like a shoo-in for the recurring role of "annoying person who tells everyone how to cook".
And it's only night two, you guys! Strap in.
