Complete digitisation of its benefits & reward services (BRS) division in India has helped Sodexo BRS to report double digit growth in the country as compared to its single digit growth globally, a top executive said.
Sodexo saw double-digit growth in India last year, and high single-digit growth worldwide. Digitisation has proved to be a good way to promote benefits in India, Aurelien Sonet, global CEO, Sodexo Benefits & Reward Services (BRS), said.
He said in terms of technology, due to the size of India, the logistics were difficult in the paper era. Moving to digital made access easy, to reach any location in India. Technology is very important. Zetas technology [developed in] India [and] in which we had invested, helped Sodexo to become a completely digital benefits & rewards company, he said. Now, Sodexo runs Zetas solutions at the global level. It is not only good for Sodexo but also creates a good image of Digital India and Made in India solutions.
Services 3 million users
Sodexo began India operations in 1997 and now 3 million Indians use Sodexo meal cards. It shifted all its paper meal coupons to digital in February 2018. Digitisation has also helped it move from a single benefit (meal benefit) offering to multi-benefit solutions. Initially, the meal coupon was used to buy food in restaurants and grocery.
But with multi-benefit solutions, corporate sector employees use it in channels such as health & wellness, fitness, learning & development and even for fuel.
