Bravo star Captain Lee Rosbach paid tribute to his late son, Josh, in a moving interview with Page Six.

Speaking about his sons accidental overdose for the first time, Rosbach told us, I deal with it every day. I hate going to sleep, and I hate waking up. Theres a hole there that cant be filled.

The star of Below Decks added, And the person who said, time heals all wounds, is full of it. It doesnt. The only thing that time may do for you is allow you to learn the skills you need to cope with the situation that youre dealing with. As parents, youre not designed to bury your children.

Rosbach said his son had been showing hopeful signs of recovery in the six months leading up to his passing.

He had a DUI conviction about 12 or 13 years ago that he finally got off his record. Hed got himself a car. He was working, he said. We thought we might have hit a milestone.

But Rosbach told us that he drove over to Joshs Fort Lauderdale, Fla., home on July 22 to check on him.

I walked in and he was sitting on the sofa with his head in his hands, and I thought he had just passed out. I felt relieved. I thought he was fine, Rosbach told us. Then I went over to give him a hug, and he was cold. Hed gone.

Medical examiners told the family that Josh had relapsed and bought pills that appeared to be prescription opioids, but were in fact counterfeits, laced with five different substances including cocaine, heroin and the incredibly powerful and sometimes lethal drug fentanyl.

Rosbach tells us that he plans to do some serious work to help fight the opioid epidemic, but hes waiting until he feels strong enough.

I dont want to start something, then not be able to finish it, he said.

For now, he hopes that sharing some of his feelings about Joshs death publicly might help other people who have lost loved ones to drug addiction.
