Mike Foltynewicz turned in a good performance while Dansby Swanson homered twice to help the Atlanta Braves to a 5-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the Braves and SunTrust Park are likely to be named host of the 2021 MLB All-Star game. An announcement is expected as soon as next week. The Braves hosted the mid-summer classic back in 2000 at Turner Field.
The Florida State League has announced its All-Star Rosters and the Florida Fire Frogs will have four representatives in the game headlined by catcher William Contreras. Others named include starter Hayden Deal, reliever Brandon White and shortstop Riley Unroe.
The Braves made a roster move prior to Fridays series opener placing outfielder Matt Joyce on the bereavement list and recalling right-hander Kyle Wright from Triple-A Gwinnett.

Nationals GM Mike Rizzo gave manager Davey Martinez a vote of confidence while speaking with reporters on Friday. Rizzo said that there was a lot of season left and that Martinez was not happy with how the season has gone to date.
The New York Mets are dealing with multiple injuries in their outfield and have signed Matt Kemp to a minor league deal. Kemp was released by the Cincinnati Reds earlier this season.
The Mets also are bringing in veteran right-hander Ervin Santana on a minor league contract. Santana opened the season with the Chicago White Sox but was designated for assignment after he posted a 9.45 ERA over his first three starts.
The Cardinals are moving Michael Wacha to the bullpen. Wacha has struggled with his command posting a 5.59 ERA while averaging 5.6 BB/9 over nine starts. They have yet to announce who will replace Wacha in the teams rotation.
The As placed Khris Davis on the injured list Friday due to a left hip/oblique contusion. The team called up outfielder Skye Bolt to take his place on the active roster.
