INDIANAPOLIS (WTHR) Stargazers, get excited. April's Pink Moon will appear on Good Friday this year!

April's Pink Moon is the next full moon of this year and it will appear on April 19 at 7:12 a.m. ET, according to the Farmers' Almanac.

Despite the name though, the Pink Moon isn't pink in color. It's named after the first wildflowers to bloom in North America in early spring.

The Pink Moon has also been called the full Sprouting Grass Moon, the Egg Moon and the Fish Moon.

This full moon also determines the date that Easter Sunday falls on, since Easter is always the Sunday after the first full moon following the spring equinox, known as the Paschal moon.

Country Living says you'll want to keep an eye out for shooting stars lighting up the night sky around April 23, when the Lyrids Meteor Shower arrives.
