Australia has a new mystery multi-millionaire after an unregistered Victorian lottery ticket purchaser took out last night's $55 million Powerball draw.
The winning unregistered ticket was purchased in Melbourne's northern suburbs.
The mystery winner picked all six winning numbers - 32, 7, 5, 34, 38 and 11. As well as the all-important 'Powerball' of 12.
However, whoever purchased the unregistered ticket is yet to come forward and it is unclear whether it was one individual person who bought the ticket or a private syndicate.
"All players in Melbourne's northern suburbs who had an entry in last night's draw should check their ticket," Tatts spokeswoman Bronnie Spencer said.
"If you discover you're holding the division one winning entry, hold on tight to that ticket."
Olsen Place Lotto agent, Rohit Narang, says he is unsure if he sold the winning ticket.
His Broadmeadows newsagency sits inside the winning zone.
"I'm not sure yet," Mr Narang told 9NEWS.
Mr Narang will find out whether he sold the ticket tomorrow.
If the mystery winner has not come forward by tomorrow morning, Tatts Lotto will release the newsagency name.
