"These motorists flouted traffic rules and regulations. Some turned a deaf ear to the decorations prescribed to celebrate the National Day, others jeopardised road users' life, and a few created nuisance with their roaring cars, he pointed out.
"There were some drivers who made critical changes in their car engines and body, while some were involved in unlicenced driving."
The Fujairah Police had earlier deployed a huge number of traffic patrols to secure the National Day celebrations, Brig Al Yamahi said.
"Despite repeated warnings, some drivers sprayed foam on others. Some motorists and passengers got out of their car windows and sunroof even as the vehicle moved at a high speed."
He added that the National Day celebrations saw some minor traffic accidents. "Two people sustained mild injuries in one of these road crashes."
Brig Al Yamahi called on all drivers to remove all the decorations to mark the National Day before Thursday (December 5).
